It is normal for many of us to find that we have added a few pounds after the holiday season is done. A little advance planning can help prevent that post-holiday bulge without ruining your holiday feast and without you worrying about how you are going to find out six pack ab exercises once the holiday season is over and you get the shock of your life when you step on the scale.
1. Do not imbibe in cocktails. This will help a person keep the pounds off. Alcohol is fattening. Drinking leads to snacking. People have less control over themselves when they indulge.
2. Fill yourself up if you are going out to a Christmas affair. You'll be less likely to fill up on sweets and high-calorie appetizers. 3. Keep up your exercise program. Physical activity has many benefits and can make it easier to get through all of the things you face during this time of year.
4. If you are cooking for the holidays, cook healthy. Maybe some one else will follow your lead. Just because it is Christmas food does not mean that it has to be bad to eat. Taste is not determined by how many calories are in a dish.
5. Do not show up to a party too early and you will miss some of the tempting foods that are availavle. If you are trying to make the right choices, you will be confronted with very few options before a meal begins. The best thing a person can do to keep from eating them is to never see them in the first place.
6. Skip the sugary foods and pieces of candy that tempt everyone by offering healthy alternatives to snack on. Most people will not miss the sweets.
7 Not all of the events require your presence. You'll save a lot of calories and time. It will allow you to enjoy the ones you go to that much more. A person’s schedule is never big enough to fit everything that they want to do. That can add to the bad feelings that you have during the holidays.
8. Do not try to be a gourmet chef. At times, the best food that is served is the one that was the easiest to prepare. There are plenty of us who would rather have a healthier dish to choose from.
9. Do not expect miracles to happen. At a holiday dinner or party, indulge in some goodies, but eat smaller portions and try to make the best choices that you can but you do have to avoid everything and should indulge in some of the foods that you crave just keep it under control and you will not be looking for something that shows you lose weight fast once the parties have ended.
10. Make sure that you eat normally during the Christmas season. Not eating will leave you hungry and that means it will be harder for you to make the right choices when confronted with a lavish buffet. If you eat on a normal schedule it is easier to say no to a large buffet that is placed in front of you.
11. Use moderation and relax. Eating something that gives you pleasure is okay so long as you do not overdo it or do it everyday. Do not think you are a bad person because you gave in.
12. Consume at least eight glasses of water daily. This is another secret to dieting at any time of the year.
It is not too difficult to make the right choices for your body. If you do make good choices you will not have to make a resolution to fix it.
