Why can't i get my M-audio fast track pro to run on windows vista 64 bit?

The message that keeps popping up is "access denied"

I've seen that before and they haven't put together a driver to address that problem, however, you might be able to get it flying by turning off UAC (User Account Control). This is the thing that keeps popping up asking you "are sure you want to go into this window" and other irritating things like not allowing a FT Pro to install. Also, make sure you get the latest driver from the M-Audio website and NOT the CD because the drivers on that CD are typically outdated from when they released the device.

Scroll to the bottom and click the file in the yellow box and choose Save, then run it from your computer, don't choose run from the website. (When I say run it from your computer, that just means make sure there is an icon wherever you saved it, i.e. - the desktop, then double-click that icon and choose run)

To turn off UAC:

-Click on the Start Menu
-Select Control Panel
-In the upper left-hand corner of the window, make sure that "Classic View" is selected and double-click "User Accounts"
-Select "Turn User Account control on or off"
-Deselect "Use User Account Control (UAC)..." and click OK

After this try re-installing the driver, after making sure that you have uninstalled the previous one and after the driver is fully installed, plu in the Fast Track and see if you're up and running.
