While most of us understand the importance of getting into shape and staying healthy, the fact remains that most of us simply don’t have the time nor the energy to go the gym diligently every week. Luckily however, there are alternatives which allow us to still get a good workout in… the most common of which is the use of gym equipment designed for domestic usage. The problem however with most of these machines is that not only are they expensive, but they are extremely cumbersome and only allow you to perform a couple of specific workouts.

As you can understand, once I had heard of the Bayou Fitness Total Trainer DLX Home Gym, I got slightly curious. I mean, judging by the name it’s a machine designed to be used at home in order to improve my overall fitness. Seeing as how I had some money to spare, I decided to give it a try after reading numerous positive reviews about it.

How does the machine work? Well, it basically relies on cable exercises to provide a full workout for every section of the body. There are enough resistance levels to keep the workout challenging, with the difference in tension between each one being consistent. From what I gathered, the Bayou Fitness Total Trainer DLX Home Gym aims to replicate various exercises such as pull-ups, hand-stand push-ups, rows, curls and such.

However, while I did find the machine provided a good and varied workout for my upper body, it lacked in the leg exercises department. While you do have the ability to perform leg curls with a weight of up to 100 pounds, this is not the machine that will allow your leg muscles to really grow. Unless your legs are already strong and you are looking to work on the rest of your body, then you should take a pass on this trainer.

Apart from the machine itself, there is also a set of instructions, a training video, not to mention a variety of workout guides that have different routines and techniques for you to practice. The machine is very easy to assemble, with the whole process taking up less than fifteen minutes. When it comes to the sturdiness and reliability of the trainer, as far as I can tell the thing is about as solid as they get. I’ve been using it for almost a year and a half now, and the whole thing feels as smooth and solid as on the day I received it. Naturally, it does require a bit of regular maintenance to stay that way, but it’s nothing to write home about.

All in all, if you are tight on space in your apartment and short on time in your schedule but still want to get an efficient work out done, then I believe you should definitely take a look at the Bayou Fitness Total Trainer DLX Home Gym; it helped me, it helped the people who used and bothered to write about it… chances are it can help you too.
